I focused on a large-scale, layered oil pastel work of two different aspects of me, somewhat layered versions of myself. One is larger and smiling hugely, green and holding a friend’s hands off-frame. A more still version of myself is positioned lower in the frame, purple and pink. The oil pastel is loose, and the background is orange and watercolor.  

The green figure represents a more extroverted and connected version of myself, exaggerated in a way that feels natural, Taken on a warm and sunny day under a clear blue sky. The purple figure is more reserved, mid-moment, introspective and on a warm fall night. The reference photos for both are candid, which correspond well to the zeitgeist of the images.
